Diatomaceous Earth Fine Grit - 9.5 kg

Fine Grit Diatomaceous Earth particle size 300 um to 2 mm - This product is very useful for providing a barrier against ants and insects in gardens and around the house.   It is food grade but not intended for human consumption.

Diatomaceous Earth for Apiary:

This grade of DE is suitable to use in the BEE boxes to deter Hive Beetles.  Instead of using oil - use Diatomaceous Earth instead.  It is not as messy as oil and just as effective. It is commonly used in apiaries for pest control, particularly against small hive beetles. When applied to the ground around beehives or sprinkled on top of frames inside the hive, diatomaceous earth acts as a desiccant, absorbing moisture from the beetles and causing them to dehydrate and die. It can be an effective non-toxic method for controlling small hive beetle populations.

Diatomaceous Earth to deter Gnats & Ants:

For Gnats: FINE GRIT Diatomaceous Earth is suitable to use to deter GNATS or ANTS.  Gnats are attracted to damp and moist areas, so identify any breeding grounds such as potted plants, compost bins, or standing water sources. Sprinkle a layer of diatomaceous earth in areas where gnats are present or likely to breed. Focus on the soil surface of potted plants, near drains, and other areas where you have seen gnats. Reapply as needed: Diatomaceous earth is effective when dry, so it may need to be reapplied after rainfall or watering. Monitor the areas and reapply the powder as necessary. Diatomaceous earth is primarily a deterrent and may not eliminate gnats completely. It is best used as part of an integrated pest management approach, which may include other methods like removing breeding sources, improving sanitation, and using sticky traps.

For ants: Locate ant trails and entry points: Identify the areas where ants are entering your home or where they are commonly seen. Look for cracks, crevices, or other openings where they might be gaining access. Sprinkle a good layer of diatomaceous earth in areas where ants are present or near their entry points. Focus on baseboards, window sills, doorways, and other areas where ants are likely to travel. Reapply as needed: Diatomaceous earth is effective when dry, so you may need to reapply it after cleaning or if it gets disturbed. Monitor the treated areas and reapply the powder as necessary.

Regular grit DE is also suitable to use.
